    BVM&S, PhD, Cert EP, Cert EM (Int Med), DipECEIM, FRAgS, MRCVS. European Specialist in Equine Internal Medicine.
    Scott graduated in 1989 from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh, to which he returned following a 2 year period in equine practice in Ireland. Following a brief period in the University first opinion clinic, he joined the Equine Medicine department of the Equine Hospital, where he has remained since. His academic career has primarily revolved around the discipline of equine medicine, with occasional breaks to undertake more focused research; PhD program on allergic lung disease in 2002 and a 3-year research sabbatical on grass sickness (2002-2005). He became a Diplomate of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine in 2004. His main clinical and research interests include equine gastrointestinal and respiratory disease and grass sickness, all areas on which he has published widely in both scientific and clinical formats and lectured both nationally and internationally. Scott is an ex-member of BEVA council, a member of the Equine Veterinary Journal Editorial Consultant Board and Clinical Evidence Board, Past President and Board member of the Veterinary and Comparative Respiratory Society and ex-Chair of the Examination Committee of the European College of Equine Internal Medicine. Scott’s current position is Chair of Equine Clinical Sciences.
