I grew up with the philosophy that when we point one finger at someone, three fingers point back at us. Little did I realise the importance of this phrase when I was young but having experienced a series of setbacks throughout my life and career, I came to understand the importance of this gifted value. Failing is essential to succeeding, blaming is insidious to learning and judging others is a reflection of who we are.

I see myself as an active listener and a thinker with a sense of curiosity to question the obvious. I enjoy working on the topics of organisational learning, accountability, accident investigation, and safety and quality management. I am also very interested in learning more about cultural anthropology and the power of storytelling.

I am an ex-master mariner and a social scientist with more than two decades of work experience that spans across hands on operations, academic research, consultancy and certification and regulation in the maritime, oil and gas sector.
