As a mechanical engineer in the energy business I have experience in systematic and condition-based maintenance as well as safe procedures for working in hazardous environments during ongoing plant operation. Working with this gave me the ability to grasp complex systems and understand how the components interact in a large facility. My background has given me a thorough understanding of what the business wants and needs, especially regarding structure and systematization. I have a thorough knowledge about IT, and it's my experience that I find it easy to learn how to use new programs. I'm an experienced user of Microsoft Word and Excel, and on Linux clients I use LibreOffice. I have often been the contact between the business and the IT organization, using my understanding for the user's way of seeing things to translate it to something that IT people can understand, and vice versa. My IT skills have been acquired using learning by doing in mixed environments with Microsoft and UNIX/Linux.
