    Marian Smeulers studied physical therapy in Eindhoven and Medical Information Science at the University of Amsterdam. She worked for over ten years at the Electronic Medical Record in the Amsterdam University Medical Center (location AMC). In 2008 she joined the department of Quality and Process Innovation of the AMC and was part of the team that prepared the hospital for the JCI quality accreditation. She has a special interest and focus on medication safety, handover of care and implementation strategies which are also topics of her PhD research on evidence-based quality improvement. From 2016 until now Marian is working as a staff advisor for the outpatient clinics of the Amsterdam UMC where she is involved in e-health initiatives and value-based healthcare projects.
