Thomas Seltzer is likely the most prominent host and debate leader in Norway. Seltzer was elected best male host, both in 2012 and 2013, during the prestigious TV Industry award «Gullruten». In 2013 he was also awarded «Media Name of the Year» and in 2014 the Confederation of Norwegian Employer pronounced him to be the best event host ever in their yearly convention.
Seltzer started his entertainment career as a music artist in the rock group Turboneger – a band he started with his friends. His artist name is Happy-Tom, and after 9 albums their band is still active, although the recent years Seltzer has grown into a more serious role, leading his own TV-show «Trygdekontoret» on NRK 3.
NRK is the largest broadcasting company in Norway, and Seltzer has been on air for ten seasons. His show «Trygdekontoret» is a pop cultural humour programme, with some grave and sincere elements. With his broad background, reaching from psychology to market analyst and writer, Seltzer is reckoned the perfect host for such programme, emitting a dark and calm charisma.
In 2015 Seltzer also hosted the late night show “Natta, Norge”, a series where he visits people and places in Norway, finding peculiar stories and phenomenons.
Seltzer has also completed half of the study needed to become a psychologist, but dropped out to «dabble in rocknroll, drugs and depression».
