Dr Julia Baker CEnv MCIEEM is the Biodiversity Technical Specialist at Balfour Beatty, a major contractor in the UK. Julia has designed and implemented Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) on a variety of projects including transport, housing and energy, and developments that range from large to small scale. Julia is the lead author of the UK’s Good Practice Principles on BNG, runs professional training courses on BNG and is on Natural England’s Sounding Board for the Biodiversity Metric. She is also a Visiting Researcher at Oxford University and an Associate of the International Institute of Environment and Development.
