Angus LawBRE Lecturer in Fire Safety Engineering, School Of Engineering, University of Edinburgh
Dr Angus Law is a chartered Fire Safety Engineer with the Institution of Fire Engineers. He obtained his doctorate from the University of Edinburgh in 2010, and subsequently worked as a fire safety engineer for Arup their Leeds office. In 2014 Angus moved to Australia, co-founding the Fire Safety Engineering degree programme at the University of Queensland, and working closely with the Fire Service to develop educational support for building approval officers.
Angus now holds the BRE Lectureship in Fire Safety Engineering at the University of Edinburgh. In this role he has: provided periodic advice to the UK Government’s Expert Panel on Fire Safety; contributed to the competence working group as part of the Dame Judith Hackett review; undertaken EPSRC funded research on cladding fires. Angus is currently supporting the Grenfell Tower Inquiry by assisting Expert Witness Professor Luke Bisby in preparing his evidence.Speaker for following sessions
