Martin Edwards joined Hess in 2009 as Vice President, Production – Europe and North Africa. He later became VP, Value Assurance. In his role he oversees Hess’ activity in the North Sea, encompassing the South Arne asset offshore Denmark, the Valhall asset offshore Norway, and decommissioning projects offshore the UK.  Martin holds a bachelor’s degree in geology from the University of Bristol and a PhD in hydrogeology from the University of Birmingham. Martin has worked in the oil and gas industry for 27 years and he has gained extensive general and commercial management experience, as well as technical experience. Prior to Hess, Martin held a variety of positions around the world with BHP Billiton and he began his career as Petroleum Engineer with BP Exploration.
