IoT, Cloud and HPC technologies are merging into a computing continuum. Systems are emerging where it is not possible to differentiate between different parts of the systems. This provide advantages in latency, communication cost and privacy as data can, for example, be processed close to sensors. At the same time cloud and HPC resources can be used for both on-demand and batch oriented tasks, including digital twins. There are also technology challenges in that applications needs to be written such that they can fully utilized all the different compute opportunities and also support migration of compute. The session will explore the computing continuum and some of its use cases.
