Title of presentation: How students learn through real life company challenges

Abstract of presentation: By working with real life company challenges students get a much deeper and more nuanced understanding of the innovation process, as well as better preparation for the organizational context of innovation. Examples of how using company challenges in teaching spurs theoretical and practical reflection in the students and helps companies in seeing a different perspective to their business, will be given.

At Stibo we believe that young people should hit the ground running. Meaning that they get competencies during their studies that allow them to create value from day one when they land their first job. All too often, newly graduated students only have theoretical knowledge when they enter the “real” world. By working with real life challenges during their studies, we prevent the devaluation many students experience at the moment they hand in their thesis.
