    Bio: Dr. Kasra Seirafi received his PhD from University of Vienna (AT) and Stanford University (US), and his B.Sc. from University of Derby (UK). He has 20+ years of experience in projects worldwide in the area of digital knowledge mediation as well as in  research and lecturing at international universities. Title of presentation: MuseumStars - Mobile Learning for Cultural Heritage Abstract of presentation: Our session presents a new mobile learning platform for museums to mediate their cultural heritage content both via remote and onsite. Museums worldwide are able to contribute and disseminate their content via multimedia storytelling, e-learning challenges, and gamification. We will reflect on best practices from international museums and offer hands-on-experience on tablets.

      As a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic, the European Union’s Horizon Europe program seeks to support virtual accessibility of cultural heritage sites and to invest in a better preservation of cultural heritage artifacts. The session will demonstrate virtual interfaces born in different research projects that already facilitate virtual experiences, and which are ready for large-scale applications in the coming years. Participants will have the chance to try out the presented tools in a demo session.
