Abstract of presentation:
The transport sector emits large quantities of CO2 and other greenhouse gases. A short-term goal is to increase the milage of gasoline/diesel vehicles. A long-term goal is to seamlessly convert from internal combustion engine vehicles (CVs) to electric vehicles (EVs). This talk looks at how GPS/CANbus data can be used to quantify the fuel consumption/energy consumption from CVs/EVs and how such data can be used to fulfill both short-term and long-term goals related to reducing CO2 emissions from driving.
