Bio: Panos Filianos is the CEO of FullBrain, the first social network for learners. He published research on the ML and gamification approaches at FullBrain. Before that, he spearheaded the ML efforts of WePly and led his boutique ML algotrading firm to a $5M volume and 25 investor clients worldwide. His interests lie with learning, startups and ML.

Abstract of presentation: FullBrain is the first social network for learners. In this talk we'll present how Machine Learning and recommendations can revolutionize learning and turn knowledge into a superpower. Additionally, we'll discuss the major challenges of social recommendations in cold-start environments and how our research plans to deal with these issues.
