    Andrea Fiedler graduated from the Ludwig-Maximilian University, Munich, in 1991. After completing her doctorate thesis she worked at a farm animal veterinary clinic.
    Since 1998 established veterinarian, she has focused on hoof health, farm consultancy in connection with hoof problems (CowSignals ® Master Trainer) and does trainings for veterinarians, hoof trimmers and farmers, also in cooperation with the Ludwig-Maximilian University in Munich.
    Andrea is a member of the examination board of the Association of Certified Hoof Trimmers” (www.VgK-ev.de) and member of two committees of the DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts- Gesellschaft – German Agricultural Society). She is also known for her research on hoof health and hoof care products.

A focus on hygiene is the basis of success, accompanied by balanced feed ration, reduction of heat stress and a high level of cow comfort. But to bring DD on a farm to an acceptable level early detection, prompt treatment of DD lesions and the correct usage of individual and collective treatments are the most important topics.

      The „5 Point Plan“, in analogy to the 5 point plan for mastitis control aims to reduce the prevalence of hoof diseases, mainly focused on digital dermatitis, but also other hoof diseases, on dairy farms by implementing management practices in 5 major focus areas.
