Rob graduated from Bristol University in 1999. In his first job in rural Devon he developed a keen interest in equine dentistry, which led to his return to Bristol in 2001 to teach undergraduates first opinion equine dentistry. In 2004, he took a senior lectureship in equine dentistry at the University of the West of England, before returning to clinical practice in 2006 in Kent. He has lectured widely on the subject of dentistry at courses and congresses run by BEVA, Voorsjaardagen, AAEP, NCED and at the Europen and American Veterinary Dental Forums.

He was part of a global team of veterinary surgeons responsible for establishing the American and European Veterinary Dental Colleges’ Equine Dentistry diploma programmes, becoming a founding diplomate in 2014, and the following year he became the first RCVS Recognised Specialist in Equine Veterinary Dentistry. In 2019, he was awarded an honorary fellowship of the Nordic College of Equine Dentistry, one of only two UK based veterinary surgeons to receive this.

Rob currently runs his own first opinion and referral dentistry practice based in Kent.
