Business Central Reflections: Past, Present and Future (100)
It has been an arduous journey and we have finally made it to the cloud.
How does the way forward look from where we are?  Did we learn from our previous successes and failures? Is life as we knew it ending or merely changing?
In this session we will discuss the effects of the latest technological shift, comparing the past to the present and the potential future.
11:00 - 11:45
Solution Showcase: Dynamics BC Apps for Manufacturing and Planning – Reach for Production Excellence
Digitization is changing manufacturing – manufacturers and planners must move with it.
Remaining competitive in the manufacturing and logistics business means delivering value to end-customers every day. Some of the challenges are: being able to plan and manage your production and logistics process efficiently - in real-time - more visibility and control over inventory, reduction of operational costs - and improved information to end-customers.

The NAVEKSA products/apps suite for Microsoft Dynamics NAV and Dynamics 365 Business Central address these challenges. You will get an introduction to the NAVEKSA product suite, see a demo, and of course get the opportunity to ask questions. See what can be achieved with CadConnect, ShopFloor, ItemPlanning and MakeToOrder.

Why the combination of spreadsheets and ERP is not enough for the Office of Finance
Spreadsheets may be the go to choice for budgeting, planning and reporting, but they quickly become error-prone, insecure, disconnected, very time consuming, and are non-collaborative.

With Prophix you can automate key financial processes while creating greater insight to the performance of the company. Process like budgeting and planning is turned in to a collaborate process with the possibilities to collect data from different stakeholders. The ability to work on different scenarios across the organization optimizes the forecasting accuracy.

Learning from the trenches – How to reduce cost and risk when migrating to extension (200)
During the last year, ForNAV has transformed their products from NAV OnPrem to Business Central Extension OnPrem and Cloud, and has helped partners to do the same. In the process, we have learned a lot about what to do and what not to when moving from txt to al, and what to do about artifacts such as .net components, menu suites, and CaptionML when migrating.

This session walks you through our experience and conclusions about what to do. It includes the following:
  • When and why to migrate – developing on the bleeding edge or not?
  • Process – what to refactor before or after the conversion to al.
  • What to expect after the conversion to al – what will work?
  • What to do with .net components:
    • Using .net on Business Central OnPrem.
    • Choosing an alternative to .net when moving to Business Central Cloud (built-in al-libraries, Azure Functions, Azure App’s, etc.).
  • What to do with CaptionML?
  • Best practices when working with al in Visual Studio code.
